Insurance & Protection Options

We want you to enjoy your drive around Columbus with complete peace of mind. Here is what you need to know about insurance coverage when renting with 614 Drive.

1. Primary Auto Insurance

  • Renters are required to carry personal auto insurance or third-party coverage that extends to rental vehicles.
  • Prior to key handoff, we will collect your insurance provider details and policy number to verify active collision and comprehensive coverage.

2. Supplemental Protection Options

If your personal auto insurance does not extend to rental cars, or if you prefer extra coverage to safeguard your personal policy’s deductible, we offer optional daily protection add-ons at checkout:

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Reduces or completely waives your financial responsibility for physical damage to the vehicle during your rental period.
  • Roadside Assistance Coverage: Covers unexpected emergencies including lockouts, flat tire changes, battery jump-starts, and fuel delivery.

3. In the Event of an Incident

In the unlikely event of an accident or vehicle damage during your rental, please follow these steps:

  1. Ensure Safety: Pull over to a safe area and seek medical attention if necessary.
  2. Contact Authorities: File a police report for any accident, collision, or vandalism incident.
  3. Notify 614 Drive: Call us immediately at 614-316-3324 to report the details.
  4. Document Details: Take clear photos of all vehicle damage, exchange contact and insurance information with any other parties involved, and keep a copy of the police report.
